VPN in BackTrack 5 with Network Manager

Hulu and the BBC iPlayer everywhere with a little VPN action to bypass Geo IP filters. We'll be setting up Network Manager in BackTrack5. Plus, Linux inside of Windows, graphing trace-routes in terminal and a whole lot more this time on Hak5!

    I can’t see to keep the icon on my task bar. I had it there but I was messing around customizing my task bars and i deleted the icon, I can connect to everything just fine after typing nm-applet & but once i close that terminal it shuts the program down. any one help me with this?

    1) No. Backtrack is a Linux distribution. You don’t need to already have linux to start using linux. You should get instructions on how to install or run Backtrack (or some other type of linux). Before you think about installing though, use iso burning software to create a live CD or live DVD. It’s a CD or DVD that you can boot your computer from to run linux without installing to your hard drive. Boot your Macbook and other computers from the live DVD to see if it’ll work ok.

    Hey, maybe silly questions, but:
    1) do we need Linux installed before using Backtrack?
    2) Does it work on Mac OS? Cuz’ my only Laptop that makes decent wi-fi connexions is a Macbook

    I installed synaptic package manager from apt-. Since BT5 Did not come with Synaptic I installed it to save time finding packages and adding repo’s.
